My grandmother used to tell me, as I sat at her knee, that peace would never be achieved unless a woman brought it to fruition. She believed that because a woman began the story in Eden, it would be a woman’s destiny to complete it — not in shame, but in harmony.
In her view, the arc of history is like a circle: the hand that reached for the fruit must also be the hand that plants the seeds of reconciliation. Women, she said, carry within them the power to mend what was broken, to turn discord into unity, and to restore balance where it was lost.
That vision has stayed with me.
It reminds me that every act of care, every story told, every bridge built across cultures is part of that destiny
To bring peace is not just a hope — it is a calling, one that women across the world are already answering in ways both quiet and profound.
