(aka: Why I built my own sandbox – this taverna shoppe. com blog page)

Social media has a list of “forbidden words” longer than a CVS receipt. Use the wrong one and the bots throw me in time‑out like I’m a seventh‑grader with a contraband black crayon. (inside joke:  Sr. Raymond hated when I used the black crayons. As a professional artist today, I use black in my work all the time. Sorry lady — you didn’t break me.

And now here we are, decades later, and instead of a nun snatching my crayon, I’ve got bots hovering over me like Sr. Raymond in 7th grade, waiting for me to slip so they can smack my post into detention. if I stayed on Facebook, I’d have to learn a whole new language just to keep the bots happy — and I already survived Sr. Raymond in 7th grade. I’m not doing that again.

I’m not kidding — I can’t even write something normal like baby stomach without the algorithm pulling the stop lever. But if I say little one’s tummy, suddenly the robot relaxes like nothing happened.

Facebook doesn’t have humans reading my posts. It has bots scanning for certain words.

If I use a phrase that sounds like:

  • medical advice
  • health claims
  • symptoms
  • body parts
  • anything involving kids
  • anything involving digestion
  • anything involving food + health

…the bot goes: “Nope. Flag it.”

It doesn’t matter if I’m right. It doesn’t matter if it’s harmless. It doesn’t matter if I’m literally quoting a medical journal, peer review or even a cookbook.

The bot doesn’t understand context. It only understands keywords.

So yes — you end up having to say things like:

  • “little one’s tummy” instead of “baby stomach”
  • “tiny humans” instead of “kids”
  • “food reactions” instead of “symptoms”
  • “supporting wellness” instead of “helping digestion”
  • I feel like a primary school writer or a TikTok medica “expert” – not like a professional medical writer/researcher which I spent the past 30 years of my life doing.

My website is where I can speak openly and teach without the filters or restrictions of social media protocol.  I get to talk like a normal human here. No filters. No flags. No robot hall monitor. Just me, saying what I mean, the way I mean it.

So, now we can openly discuss information and topics without interference or a bot hanging over my shoulder. If you’re reading here, you’re getting the complete version — not the shortened or filtered one.

So  welcome friends!  Pull up a chair and lets talk about things that matter -Despina Manos
